Hi, family. It’s been quite a week, and, as the news surrounding the Coronavirus continues to intensify, we want to remind ourselves that God has given us a spirit of love, not fear. During this time when there is so much anxiety in our community, Christians can be living testimonies to the peace that God offers each and everyone of us through His Son.
And it’s in that spirit of love and not fear that, after prayerfully considering the ramifications for our physical and spiritual health, 𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗲𝗹𝗱𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝗵𝗮𝘃𝗲 𝗺𝗮𝗱𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗱𝗲𝗰𝗶𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝘁𝗼 𝗴𝗼 𝗳𝗼𝗿𝘄𝗮𝗿𝗱 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝟭𝟬:𝟰𝟱𝗮𝗺 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗽 𝘀𝗲𝗿𝘃𝗶𝗰𝗲 𝘁𝗼𝗺𝗼𝗿𝗿𝗼𝘄 𝗮𝘀 𝗽𝗹𝗮𝗻𝗻𝗲𝗱. 𝗢𝘂𝗿 𝗺𝗼𝗿𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗕𝗶𝗯𝗹𝗲 𝗰𝗹𝗮𝘀𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘀𝘁𝘂𝗱𝘆 𝘄𝗶𝗹𝗹 𝗻𝗼𝘁 𝗺𝗲𝗲𝘁.
We know the importance of the church during this moment and that’s why we want to strive to leave our doors open as long as we can.
That said, there are a few of things we are going to ask of you to keep each other healthy.
First and foremost, if you are sick, please stay home. We love you and, while we generally encourage sharing, germs are one thing we don’t want you to pass on. We will be posting a video of the morning’s sermon at 10:45 on Facebook and at greenfieldchurchofchrist.org/health for you to study with, and we encourage you to text (317) 207-2734 to let us know how you are doing and so that we can bring you some groceries or anything else you may need.
Second, when you’re here, wash your hands (sing the first verse of Jesus’ loves me to make sure you’ve washed long enough), use the hand sanitizer we have around, and find a new way to greet people other than a hand shake or a hug. I’ll be trying out the elbow bump all morning.
Finally, don’t stop praying. Pray for those who are sick, those who are anxious, those who are disappointed and fearful about work and other events being put on hold, and that God will be glorified through all of this.
If you are feeling well, I can’t wait to see you in the morning so we can lean on God together for guidance during this anxious time.
